Tips for Galactic
Build your forces.
Mon Mothmas' presence provides a 25% reduction in the price
of anything you build on that planet.
One barracks per planet is enough.
Since you can't build any factories early
in the game, fill up all the empty slots with
mining facilities.
(Note my credits jumped from 260 per day to 1380.)
Building space stations allows you to buy capital ships.
Forget the Z-95s,they are a waste of time.
You will soon acquire the X-Wing fighter technology.
Send the Z-95s into a space battle, and burn them off.
That frees up some room in your limited troop count for
something more useful, like tanks.
Space Forces
Later on, when defending planets, build a space station,
and accompany it with a defense fleet consisting of:
3 Corellian Corvettes,
3 Corellian Gunships,
and
2 Nebulon-B frigates.
If the enemy can defeat them in battle, a
larger fleet wouldn't be of any help.

Ground Forces
This ground force (Fleet 1 upper left) will conquer most planets.
Always include 3 Y-Wing bombers with them (C3P0 only for a few battles).
The bombing runs will help kill off concentrations
of enemy forces.
After you win the planet, build a barracks,
and move your ground force that wasn't used
in battle to a
planet away from the fronts.Because the shuttles
they travel in cannot defend themselves.
Of course,C3PO and R2 are only going along for the
Wayland mission.
Building an Attack Fleet
I like to include:
5-7 Corellian Corvettes
5-8 Corellian Gunships
3-4 Marauder Missile Cruisers
3-5 Nebulon-B Frigates
and
3-5 Alliance Assault Frigates.
Obviously you are at level 3 technology
by the time you can assemble these fleets.
The X-Wing and Y-Wing squadrons are great for
attacking enemy Space Stations,
yet they are usually wiped out by Tartan Cruisers
early in the battles.
So I rarely use them,anymore.
