Tips

This page is specifically for playing Classic Domination Risk on your PC with the 1997 CD.
The AI in the game a fairly crude, they basically play an "attack the human" strategy.
If you are playing against 2-3 AI: Unless you get a great setup on a continent, where you can build without too much resistance, always go for as many territories as you can get. This is beneficial, early in the game before cards become a factor. You get more armies, the AIs get fewer armies. It may sound small, but 1 more army can be the difference between getting a card and not getting a card.

When playing 4-5 AIs, usually you just want to find a place where you can build and get cards without being killed for it.
If one of them is building in a continent against you, attack it with your pile. There is no sense in two players building up and attacking for a continent. All you do is weaken yourself. If you lose, then build outside of the continent. And go back for an invasion when you have the strength.

Watch which color has 3,4,or 5 cards. They are your main concern. Remember, the AI play against the human. No matter how nice you think you are, they will come calling.

If you build your borders, the AI will build next to it. Don't allow this. Maintain at least a trade-in of cards over what the AI has. One army more than them, and they usually will go the other way. Rarely, they will attack a larger army. Usually that attack would be from an AI that already has a continent somewhere else, and you should return the favor, if possible.
