Risk II Last Minute Changes and Additions:

SAMETIME DICE

Please be advised that the attacker wins on a draw as opposed to the defender as stated in the manual. To balance this, the defender now uses the same dice table as the attacker. This has also been modified and is shown below:
Battalions   Dice Used
1-5     White
6-10     Yellow
11-18     Orange
19-29     Red
30+     Black

SameTime games enforced trading

There is no enforced trading of cards in SameTime games. Card trading occurs only at the start of a player's turn.

ELECTION:

After all players have completed bidding for territories in the Election phase of the game, each player will receive a number of extra troops to deploy at the start of their game. This number is based on the number of players and territories in the game. You will notice that there are two columns of numbers in the status bar on the Election screen. The first number is the amount of points a player has and the second number is the amount of territories gained by the player. To pause an Election in a single player game, hit the ESC key.

PLACING OF TROOPS:

By right-clicking the mouse a player can access the troop panel and deploy any number of their available troops.

WHISPER CHAT:

Risk II supports both 'Whisper' chat and 'Broadcast' chat. Whisper chat allows a player to send a private message to selected recipients, while broadcast chat sends a message to all players. Click on 'CHAT' on the interface panel and then click on the color box of the player or players that you want to communicate with. You can choose 'NONE', 'ALL', or you can pick the individual player(s) color box that you want to send a message to. Once you have typed your message in the message box, hit enter to send the message.

FAST AI BATTLES:

When 'FAST AI' is active a player can further speed up AI battles by hitting the 'SPACE BAR'.

ALLIANCE TYPES:

Level 1 Alliance Expects both players to avoid attacking each other's continents. To be classified as a player's continent; The continent must be at least 75% owned by the player, and The player must have at least 60% of the troops within the continent
Level 2 Alliance Expects both players to limit their attacks against each other to a single, unimportant territory. To be classed as unimportant, the territory: Must not belong to a continent that is 50% or more owned by the territory owner, and… Must not be part of the owner's largest connected empire, and… The territory owner must have less than 40% of the troops in that continent, and... The territory must not border a continent that is entirely owned by the target player, and... The territory must have fewer than 4 battalions
Level 3 Alliance Expects both players to avoid attacks of any kind against the other player

I-COM

In Classic and SameTime games, all I-COM alliances last for one game turn. I.e.: until both players involved in the alliance have ended their turn. Please note that if a player chooses to click 'DONE' instead of accepting or declining an alliance, the AI will interpret this as though you are declining the offer of alliance.

LAN and Internet games

All players who participate in LAN and Internet games will play with battle views on and Territory Zooms off. Battle panels will NOT be used.
On the Network Player Setup Screen, if the player clicks on the Main Menu, they are taken to the Main Menu Screen. Players can exit to desktop from the Main Menu and the MSN Gaming Zone will still be active.
IMPORTANT: Players should exit to desktop and re-launch Risk II if they intend to play a single player game instead. This will prevent an unexpected lag, or game play problems.
Known Problems:

Matrox Millennium
If problems are encountered with the territory zooms using the Matrox Millennium graphic card, go to the in game menu and disable territory zooms.
