Club Pogo Benefits

RISK is available to all players on the Pogo website. However, Club Pogo players get some extra benefits when playing RISK on our web site. Namely...

  • The Modern Theme is exclusive to Club Pogo players and is HUGE. Not only is the background map replaced, but the pop-up menus match the theme, a new advisor has been included, and three fully-animated new units have been added, and the sound effects have updated! Switch back and forth between the themes by clicking the button above the "Switch to" on the side chat area.
  • The Military Advisor is useful addition to newbie and experienced players alike. Club Pogo players can enjoy the advice of the advisor, who will show you where to attack next and when to cut your losses and stop. Experienced players get the benefit of knowing the exact odds of defeating an enemy who is bring targeted (with a mouse-over of the target area after selecting the territory to attack from).
  • Alliances add a great social element to the game, and allow Club Pogo players to make formal but non-binding alliances with each other. These alliances last until formally broken (requiring a one-turn grace period for the former ally to prepare for war), a player is eliminated, or a player backstabs the other during the alliance (which will result in a drop in the offending players Honor Rating).
    • To make an Alliance, open that player's menu and mouse over the “select alliance” option. Click to offer the alliance. Special note should be made of that player's honor rating (the same if you are being offered an alliance).
    • Once allied, all players in the room will be notified of that alliance and it will be updated in the alliance board on the lower left side of the screen.
    • Players may ally with all the other players in the room, technically.
    • Breaking an alliance through treachery will reduce your honor rating while honoring it will increase your honor rating once per game.
    • You may get special permissions to attack an ally if, for example, you wish to attack through the ally to get to an enemy.
    • You may not ally with Free or computer players.
  • Club Pogo players get ranks and badges. Your rank is based on the number of times you complete a game. You get badges when you reach ranks 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50.
