My seventh stereo, Panasonic SA-HE70

by cleaverb

My seventh stereo is a used, Panasonic SA-HE70 5.1 surround-sound receiver bought on eBay for $66 total.

This is my first 5.1 system, and it has a nice Dolby ProLogic 2 sound
Featuring 100 watts RMS per channel into 6 ohm from 40Hz to 20KHz with .9% THD.
The surround power is less, but it does alright for my listening. With 4 full-size speakers, and a small center .
The biggest step-up for me in this system is the 2 optical inputs and 1 digital coax input. The system also has 5 different ambience settings, and it will rattle the house pretty well.

This system has satisfied my desire for a Prologic/Surround system, so I am probably done buying stereos for some time.

I then purchased a used Panasonic DVD-CP67s, 5 disc DVD changer for around $30,shipped.
Immediately, the clarity of the sound from this deck caught my attention: it is superb! Much better than the HK 8350.

There is nothing fancy to look at,but there is some great sound.Mine is black, although it says CP67s,with the 's' standing for silver.

I'm using Monster optical cables, which bring a better bass than a regular fibre-optic cable.
Since this was placed in my living room, I moved the HK system into my computer room, and paired it up with an old Technics SH-8025 , 7 band graphic equalizer. It's good enough, for mp3s off my computer.
And that's all, folks.
